Emissions Solutions

Cook Compression offers proven solutions for achieving emissions objectives. Our Sentrix™ flow measurement technology can accurately quantify packing case leakage while our engineered sealing systems improve emissions control. Ultra-low-leakage ring technology stops leakage along the piston rod; advanced purged packing case designs prevent gas from migrating to the vent; and Static-Pac® shutdown seals prevent the escape of high-pressure gas while compressors are idle.

In addition, expert technicians at our service centers can bring worn components back to factory specifications and clearances, restoring like-new performance and sealing.

Advanced Compressor Valve Design

High-speed compressors operating in pipeline applications put significant stress on the compressor valves. The Cook Compression Ring Damped Valve uses a patented damping ring to slow the velocity of the sealing element during valve opening, which minimizes impact forces applied on the sealing element and extends valve life.

It also allows the valve to run at higher lifts and increase the effective flow area, producing higher efficiency and reducing the required horsepower.

Solid Ring Technology Controls Emissions, Lasts Longer

A Gulf Coast energy company taking the initiative to control gas leakage from reciprocating compressor packing cases explored options to replace conventional ring sets with low-leak packing. After installing Cook’s low-emissions rod packing, vent leakage was reduced to near zero scfm. The same results were seen after 8,000 hours of operation.
